Pilot sustains severe injuries following plane crash at Perth airport

A pilot suffered severe injuries when his plane crashed at a Perth airport on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the airport at 1:15pm following reports of a small plane crashing during an emergency landing.

The aircraft had only one occupant, a 73-year-old man, who was transported to Royal Perth Hospital with severe injuries.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will undertake an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
