Pilot killed after light plane crashes into powerlines

A pilot died after his light plane crashed into powerlines and caught alight in far west NSW.

Emergency services responded to reports of a light plane crash in Tilpa at around 12.10pm on Monday afternoon.

The pilot, a 52-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident.
