Pilot flown to hospital after firefighting chopper crashes into Queensland dam

A pilot has been flown to hospital after his chopper crashed while battling a bush fire in South East Queensland.

The water bombing helicopter crashed into a dam in the Scenic Rim on Wednesday afternoon.

A LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the scene at around 3pm.

The pilot was treated for minor injuries and then flown to Toowoomba Hospital for further assessment.
