Perth worker dies after being hit by steel beam

A worker was fatally struck by a load of steel in Perth on Tuesday afternoon.

The 59-year-old man was reportedly working close to a crane at a construction site in Malaga when the incident happened.

The man stood on the ground while a worker hoisted the load.

Paramedics hurried to the scene and declared him deceased on arrival.

A WorkSafe investigation is currently in progress.
