Operator rescued after crane falls at Sydney worksite

A construction worker was extricated from a crane that had fallen over in Sydney’s southwest on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services responded to a property in Padstow Heights just after 4pm on Tuesday following reports of a crane that had toppled over.

A construction worker was trapped in the cabin of the heavy machinery that had overturned, leaving him hanging 2 meters above the ground.

The worker was rescued from the crane by tradies using a ladder.

A colleague took the man to the hospital for treatment.
