NT WorkSafe has issued a reminder to those intending to work in the construction sector that in-person training is mandatory to acquire a Northern Territory general construction induction training card (white card).

“Avoid the websites offering cheap online courses as online training is not recognised or accepted in the Northern Territory,” NT WorkSafe states in the reminder.

“White card training includes practical components that require in-person participation, which is why it must be completed face-to-face.”

According to the NT workplace safety regulator, individuals must undergo training from a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) sanctioned by NT WorkSafe to acquire a white card. The NT WorkSafe website provides a list of these authorised training providers.
