NT WorkSafe warns about dangers of using LP gas cylinder adaptors

The Northern Territory's workplace safetywatchdog warns owners of LP gas appliances against using adaptors to connect their gas appliance to portable gas cylinders following a serious barbecue incident in Western Australia last month.

The incident left a Perth home owner with serious burns, according to NT WorkSafe.

“Initial findings from the Western Australian investigation found that while the new gas appliance was fitted with the new LCC27 appliance connector, an adaptor used caused the safety valve to not operate,” NT WorkSafe says in its safety alert.
