NT WorkSafe warns about dangers of poorly installed DC isolators

NT WorkSafe reminds solar installers that poor installation of DC isolators can lead to fire.

In a recent safety alert, the safety regulator urges solar PV installers and electricians to “ensure the installation option selected is appropriate for the location of the DC isolator and the ingress protection of the isolator isn’t compromised during installation.”

More than 20 infringement notices have been issued to Solar PV installers for unsafe installations this year.

NT WorkSafe said electrical safety inspectors carry out random inspections to ensure new Solar PV installations meet the required safety standards.
