NT WorkSafe names new Executive Director

NT WorkSafe has appointed Ms Peggy Cheong as its Executive Director after a rigorous selection process.

Ms Cheong has been living in Darwin since 1988, and has worked with various government departments in the Northern Territory. She was the Deputy Chair of the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Advisory Committee before joining the Northern Territory workplace health and safety regulator.

NT WorkSafe said Ms Cheong 'brings with her decades of substantial experience in the Northern Territory legal sector, particularly in areas related to occupational work health and safety, workers compensation, and employment law.'

Ms Cheong has been serving in a temporary capacity since June.
