NT WorkSafe ends National Safe Work Month with mock trial

Northern Territory WorkSafe will hold a mock work health and safety trial this week as part of National Safe Work Month.

NT WorkSafe says the mock trial is for a fictitious incident where a young worker was harassed by her boss for more than a year.

“The mock trial is an opportunity, not only to see how alleged offences are prosecuted under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011, but also to gain insight on the legal obligations around managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace which came into effect on 1 July 2023 in the Northern Territory,” says NT WorkSafe.

The mock trial will be held at the Darwin Supreme Court Building on Tuesday 31 October 2023 from 1pm.
