NT WorkSafe calls on the public to make safety their foremost concern when celebrating Territory Day with fireworks
NT WorkSafe urges all those celebrating Territory Day with fireworks to adhere to the regulations and prioritise safety.
“With five hours to use fireworks between 6pm and 11pm on Tuesday 1 July – buy only what you can safely ignite during the approved periods. Any leftover and defective fireworks must be handed in to NT WorkSafe for safe disposal,” the safety regulator stated.
NT WorkSafe said anyone found igniting or holding fireworks outside of the authorised times may face a penalty that has now escalated to $1,890.
NT WorkSafe advises individuals to exclusively buy fireworks from authorised retailers and to select a quantity that they can safely ignite within the permitted duration.
