NT WorkSafe calls on the public to prioritise safety during Territory Day celebrations

NT WorkSafe urges individuals commemorating Territory Day with fireworks to adhere to the regulations and commemorate in a safe manner.

“In particular, we are urging people to only buy enough fireworks that they can safely use during the five hour approved period between 6 pm to 11 pm,” the safety watchdog said.

NT WorkSafe said those found setting off or having fireworks outside of the designated times will be subject to a fine that has been raised to $1,850.

“Only buy fireworks from licenced retailers and only buy the quantity you can safely let off within the approved period,” NT WorkSafe stated.
