NT solar company faces charges for persistently disregarding the risk of falls from heights

OHS Daily News

NT WorkSafe has filed charges against a solar company and its manager for not ensuring their employees utilised fall protection measures while performing tasks at elevated levels.

The safety watchdog will claim that in May 2024, inspectors for Electrical Safety performed unplanned safety checks on recently installed solar PV systems at a home in Katherine.

The assessment performed at the home uncovered a range of electrical deficiencies and violations related to the solar PV system that had been installed.

The solar company and its manager are both facing two charges under the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 (the Act).

The case is scheduled to be mentioned at the Darwin Local Court on Thursday 22 August.
