NSW Resources Regulator’s Quarterly Safety Report now available

The NSW Resources Regulator has released its Quarterly Safety Report – January to March 2024 to aid operators of mine and petroleum sites in meeting their obligations under work health and safety laws.

According to the Resources regulator, the report focuses on risky and high-risk events, safety records, and regulatory efforts in ‘coal mines, large (non-coal) mines, quarries, small mines, gemstone quarries, opal mines, petroleum and geothermal sites, and exploration sites.’

“In the report, there were a total of 533 incident notifications received, a 4% decrease from the same period in FY 2023. An increase in incident notifications for the large mines sector by 15% and decreases for coal mines (11%) and small mines (27%),” the regulator states in the report.
