NSW Resources Regulator releases yearly results of major visibility campaign

The NSW Resources Regulator has announced the findings of its 2025 annual high visibility campaign.

The campaign was carried out over a period of 10 days from late June to early July 2025, focusing on significant incidents at both underground and surface mines throughout NSW, while also evaluating the effectiveness of measures implemented to avert the recurrence of incidents that were reported in the previous 12 months.

A total of forty-eight inspectors performed a combination of scheduled and surprise inspections at 144 mining locations, interacting with both workers and supervisors to complete evaluations

“Overall, most mines had implemented robust safety controls and workers showed a clear understanding of past incidents and outcomes,” the regulator stated.
