NSW resources regulator releases safety alert following serious injury sustained by worker due to ventilation double doors

The Resources Regulator has issued a safety alert in response to an incident that took place during a scheduled major ventilation change involving a pair of double machine doors, on 13 June at a mine located in the Wollongong area.

A worker sustained serious injuries after being caught between the doors, underscoring the dangers linked to the unregulated movement of ventilation systems under pressure.

The Regulator has released a set of recommendations to avert future incidents. Furthermore, a supporting video is available.
