NSW Resources Regulator publishes quarterly safety report for July to September 2025

The NSW Resources Regulator has issued its Quarterly Safety Report covering July to September 2025, to guide the industry in the review of safety management systems and the execution of risk assessments at their facilities.

“As a high-hazard regulator, we focus on compliance with legislative requirements associated with principal and other high-risk hazards. ‘Roads or other vehicle operating areas’, ‘fire or explosion’ and ‘air quality or dusts and other airborne contaminants’ are hazards that feature regularly in incident notifications to the Regulator,” the regulator states.

The report indicates that 596 incident notifications were recorded — an 18% rise from the last quarter and a 1% rise from the same time last year. During the quarter, there was one death unrelated to work.

Furthermore, the overall assessments rose by 27% this quarter, increasing from 927 to 1175.
