NSW Resources Regulator publishes Quarterly safety report

OHS Daily News

The NSW Resources Regulator has published the Quarterly safety report (July to September 2024) to enhance industry awareness when evaluating safety management systems and conducting risk assessments at their sites.

The report outlines incidents and trends concerning hazard management, along with information specific to the sector.

“As a high-hazard regulator, we focus on compliance with legislative requirements associated with principal and other high-risk hazards. ‘Roads or other vehicle operating areas’, ‘fires or explosion’ and ‘air quality or dusts and other airborne contaminants’ are hazards that feature regularly in incident notifications to the Regulator,” the regulator states in the report.

According to the report, the quarter witnessed two fatalities. Of these, one was attributed to work-related circumstances, whereas the other was classified as non-work-related.

The Quarterly safety report is accessible here.
