NSW logistics company fined for safety breaches that led to worker death

A NSW logistics company has been fined for safety breaches that led to the death of a worker more than three years ago.

Head of SafeWork NSW Natasha Mann said the company pleaded guilty in the District Court of New South Wales after a truckie was fatally crushed by the deck of a trailer in 2019.

“The court heard the May 2019 incident happened when the worker began working on a vehicle transportation trailer during his rest break,” Ms Mann said.

“The worker was carrying out repairs to the air lines of the trailer using a repair kit provided by the company when the well deck dropped and fatally injured him.”
