Ms. Peggy Cheong, the head of the Northern Territory’s Work Health Authority, is resigning from her position after more than two years of leadership at NT WorkSafe.

Ms. Cheong has taken on the role of Deputy WHS Commissioner at WorkSafe ACT and will be moving to Canberra to be nearer to her family, concluding her 37-year tenure as a resident of the Northern Territory, according to a statement released by NT WorkSafe on Tuesday.

The safety regulator said Ms. Kerry Barnaart, who serves as the Director of Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation at NT WorkSafe, has taken on the role of Acting Work Health Authority while the search for a permanent replacement is underway.
