NHVR seeks public feedback on crane industry code of practice

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and the Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) have published the Crane Industry Code of Practice draft for public review and feedback. NHVR says the Code will be assessed for registration once the review and comment period is complete.

The Crane Code draft was created to help the crane industry and related companies follow safety regulations.

NHVR Chief Safety and Productivity Officer David Hourigan said “As with all heavy vehicles on our roads, mobile cranes must adhere to the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) that applies to all vehicles over 4.5 tonnes in most states and territories.”

The Code will be open for feedback for a period of 30 days.
