NHVR joins forces with young drivers to add a chilling element to the Don’t #uck With A Truck campaign
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has commenced the third phase of the Don’t #uck With A Truck campaign, partnering with young drivers to deliver a vital message: exercise caution when navigating around trucks to avert dire consequences.
NHVR's Acting Chief Operations Officer, Michelle Tayler said the regulator's collaboration with young drivers in the co-design of the campaign's new phase has led to the creation of a series of road safety videos. These videos skillfully combine humour and serious messaging to resonate with a young audience.
“The new Don’t #uck With A Truck videos depict young drivers as ghosts after they have been in an accident with a truck due to their unsafe driving, pushing the message that Being Dead is Boring,” Ms Tayler said.
“By putting a road safety spin on some of the most popular Tik Tok trends and focusing each of the three videos on a specific safety scenario, we’re aiming to educate our youngest drivers on how to share the road with trucks so they can make it to their destination safely.”
The initiative will be shared across social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, thereby reaching young drivers in the spaces where they engage with content.
