The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has announced the outcomes of an extensive safety initiative undertaken during Easter to tackle the hazards posed by fatigue.

Nearly 3,000 heavy vehicles were seized throughout the week-long safety campaign named 'Operation Omega II.'

NHVR Chief Operating Officer Paul Salvati said the road safety operations conducted by NHVR are vital for safeguarding lives on the roads of Australia, particularly during high-risk holiday seasons like Easter and Christmas.
