NHVR advocates for improved road safety throughout grain harvest season

With the commencement of Australia's grain harvest season, the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) says it is actively engaged in efforts to ensure the safety of farmers, heavy vehicle operators, and transport personnel.

During this harvest season, the NHVR has started a range of initiatives to tackle the issues linked to grain harvesting.

Michelle Tayler, the Acting Chief Operations Officer of NHVR, underscored the significance of safety during this peak demand period.

“This isn’t just another season — it’s the result of a year’s hard work for our farmers and the backbone of our food system,” Ms Tayler said.

“The NHVR’s core role is to help keep our roads safe and our supply chain strong, which is why our team is on the ground, working closely with the industry to make sure drivers, machinery, and loads are ready for the road.”
