New WorkSafe statistics reveal 2022 workplace death toll

WorkSafe reminds workplaces of the shocking effects of occupational injuries after 61 workers were fatally injured in 2022.

The 2022 death toll includes 24 people who were killed in workplace incidents, and 17 who died in work-related vehicle incidents. Another 14 people died from occupational diseases, according to WorkSafe statistics.

The figures show over 24,000 Victorian workers sustained serious injuries in 2022.

WorkSafe said there were 79 work-related fatalities in 2021.
