New WorkCover initiative targets forklift-related injuries

WorkCover has launched a pilot program to help reduce forklift-related injuries in the North Queensland region.

The Harmful Equipment (Forklifts) Injury Risk Reduction Initiative aims to support Queenslanders who have been injured in forklift incidents.

According to WorkCover statistics, more than 700 forklift-related injuries are reported in Queensland each year.

“This is a real opportunity to reduce the risk of workplace injuries and improve safety culture. We look forward to seeing the results of this program and sharing them more broadly,” WorkCover Head of Partnerships Sharon Stratford said.
