New study finds a third of Victorian paramedics injured at work
A recent Monash University study has revealed that nearly a third of all paramedics in Victoria have sustained job-related injuries.
Researchers found that more than 7500 paramedic injuries occurred over a period of six years, with 28% leading to absence from work.
The study also identified manual handling and psychological stressors as the leading causes of injuries among Victorian paramedics.
"The Victorian government takes the health and well-being of all Ambulance Victoria employees extremely seriously, and their safety is our top priority," said a Government spokeswoman.
