New Executive Director for NT WorkSafe

NT WorkSafe has appointed a new Executive Director, Mr. Grant Hastie, who will commence his role on 25 August 2025.

Mr. Hastie has been with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland since 2008 and has additionally served as the Acting Executive Director of the Specialised Health and Safety Services as well as the Acting Director of the Occupational Health and Hygiene Unit.

“Mr Hastie’s experience is underpinned by a solid technical background, having previously worked as a dangerous goods advisor and on-call HAZMAT Scientific Advisor with the Queensland Fire Department, as well as an occupational and environmental scientist with Queensland’s Department of Mines and Energy,” says NT WorkSafe.

Mr. Hastie’s academic credentials comprise a Master of Applied Science from the Queensland University of Technology and an Executive Master of Public Administration obtained from the Australia and New Zealand School of Government in conjunction with Griffith University.
