New advisory group to address sexual harassment in NSW workplaces

The NSW Government has established the NSW Respect at Work Advisory Group to coordinate efforts to tackle workplace sexual harassment.

Recent figures from the Australian Human Rights Commission show a third of Australians have been sexually harassed at work.

Minister for Industrial Relations and Work Health and Safety Sophie Cotsis said, “The prevalence of sexual harassment in Australian workplaces is incredibly concerning and we believe the collaboration that the NSW Respect at Work programs will help reduce this.”

Commenting on the same issue, Minister for Prevention of Domestic Violence and Assault Jodie Harrison said "workplace sexual harassment has a profound effect on victims and reduces productivity."
