New ACT Codes of Practice set to take effect in November

The ACT Government has announced that two Codes of Practice have been notified and will take effect in November.

The new Codes of Practice include the ‘Managing the Risks of Airborne Crystalline Silica (Silica Dust) in the Workplace Code of Practice,’ and the ‘Managing Psychosocial Hazards at Work Code of Practice.’

The Code of Practice for managing the risks of silica dust commences on 15 November 2023 and aims to protect workers from silica dust.

The Code of Practice for managing work-related psychosocial hazards takes effect on 27 November 2023.

This code provides additional information about psychosocial hazards in the workplace and how to prevent them.
