National Safe Work Month kicks off

October 1 officially kicked off National Safe Work Month and Safe Work Australia reminds workplaces to ‘know safety, work safely’ and make workplace safety a priority.

Safe Work Australia said National Safe Work Month is a time to raise awareness about workplace health and safety and encourage everyone to speak about safety at work.

The federal safety agency says each week of the campaign will focus on a different topic, adding that the campaign will focus on injuries at work during the first week.

“Next week, we will focus on mental health. Mental (psychological) health, just like physical health, is an important part of work health and safety. Preventing psychological harm is an essential part of creating a healthy and safe workplace,” Safe Work Australia said.
