Motorists urged to prioritise safety during National Road Safety Week
As National Road Safety Week commences, Victoria Police is urging motorists to place safety as their top priority and stay alert.
This annual event emphasises the severe consequences of road accidents and the significance of responsible driving to ensure the survival of all road users.
An estimated 1200 people lose their lives and another 40,000 are severely injured in road accidents in Australia annually.
In the year 2023, there were 295 fatalities on Victorian roads, representing the highest fatality count in a decade and a half.
