Memorial service honours firefighters killed on the job in Western Australia

A memorial service was recently held in Kings Park to pay tribute to the Western Australian firefighters who lost their lives while on duty.

This solemn occasion, which coincided with International Firefighters' Day, brought together the families of the fallen firies along with present and former emergency services workers to honour and remember the sacrifices made by these brave individuals.

"On International Firefighters' Day we pause to remember and honour our brave personnel who sadly lost their lives while protecting the community,” emergency services Minister Stephen Dawson said.

This year, eight individuals have been included in the Honour Roll and their names have been inscribed on plaques at the Firefighters' Memorial Grove.
