Melbourne worker dies after falling from roof

WorkSafe is conducting an investigation following the fatal fall of a roofer at a Melbourne commercial factory on Saturday morning.

The 55-year-old man reportedly fell about eight metres through a roof onto a concrete surface at around 10:30 am.

He suffered severe head injuries and later succumbed in the hospital.

According to data from WorkSafe Victoria, a total of 41 workers have lost their lives at work this year.
