Melbourne rubber company facing charges over workplace death

A Melbourne rubber supplier faces multiple charges under the Victorian OHS Act after a fatal workplace incident in 2021.

According to WorkSafe Victoria, the 47-year-old worker was fatally injured after being struck by a piece of machinery.

WorkSafe alleges that the company failed to provide a safe workplace and safe systems of work.

The company has also been accused of failing to provide adequate training to employees to perform their work safely.

The case is listed for a filing hearing at the end of this month.
