Man injured while battling grass fire in South East Queensland

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the Lockyer Valley on Sunday evening to treat and airlift a man who had been injured while fighting a grass fire.

The man in his 60s suffered burns and a suspected head injury as he attempted to extinguish a fast-moving grass fire just before 5pm.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for specialist treatment.
