A man was flown to hospital by the LifeFlight helicopter after being struck by a tree north of Brisbane.

The LifeFlight helicopter was dispatched to the Bundaberg area at 11:20am on Sunday morning.

Reports suggest the man, aged in his 40s, was trimming trees in his yard when he became trapped underneath a fallen tree.

The patient was initially treated for a fracture in his right leg before being airlifted to Bundaberg Hospital for continued treatment.
