Man hospitalised after tree cutting incident in southern Tasmania

A man sustained injuries while cutting down a tree in southern Tasmania on Wednesday 1 January 2025.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident around 1:45pm.

The 57-year-old man received on-site treatment from paramedics and was subsequently taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Preliminary investigations suggest the man was engaged in tree felling on private bush property.
