Man dies after becoming stuck in cement crushing machinery in central Queensland

A 68-year-old man has been killed after being trapped in machinery in central Queensland.

Emergency services were dispatched to Knight St in Rockhampton at around 11.30am on Tuesday following reports of a 68-year-old man sustaining injuries.

The man was successfully rescued from the machinery by a specialised rescue team and medical personnel. He was then transported to Rockhampton Hospital on a stretcher at around 12.30pm.

According to reports, the worker succumbed to severe head injuries on Tuesday afternoon.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
