Man airlifted to hospital following incident involving heavy machinery in South East Queensland

A man has been flown to hospital after a truck incident in South East Queensland on Friday afternoon.

The man, aged in his sixties, was assisting with a recovery vehicle to relocate an overturned earthmoving truck when he was hit by a piece of equipment, resulting in severe chest injuries.

At 4:45pm, the LifeFlight helicopter was sent to the scene and landed on the road close to the incident, where personnel from the Queensland Fire Department (QFD) and the Queensland Police Service (QPS) were also present.

The LifeFlight aeromedical crew collaborated with local QAS paramedics to stabilise the patient prior to airlifting him to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
