Latest NT work health and safety statistics published

The Northern Territory workplace health and safety regulator has released the 2022-2023 Key WHS statistics report. The report provides data on workers compensation claims and occupational deaths in the Northern Territory.

"These statistics report on financial year data compared to calendar year data published by Safe Work Australia last week," NT WorkSafe said.

The latest statistics show five worker fatalities occurred in the Northern Territory in 2022-23.

Government Administration and Defence, Health and Community Services, Construction, Retail Trade and Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing had the highest rate of serious injuries in the Northern Territory, according to the report.

The 2022-23 WHS report reveals that motor vehicle incidents are the leading cause of occupational fatalities in the Northern Territory.
