Last opportunity for a no-cost lung check-up in 2025

Mackay's former mine and quarry employees will have one final opportunity to obtain a free lung assessment on the HEART5 Mobile Health Unit before the year concludes, with its visit planned for December.
HEART5 is returning to the Resources Centre of Excellence from Tuesday, December 2, to Thursday, December 4, after a successful visit in March.
RSHQ's Executive Director of Occupational Health, Dean Barr, is urging individuals to step forward for testing prior to the commencement of the holiday season.
"We know this is a busy time for everyone and the focus is not necessarily on our health, but a mine dust lung disease can be debilitating and often presents without symptoms early on," said Mr Barr.
"Tick off one more item on your 2025 to do list before the year ends, and book in for a free lung check.
"An early diagnosis can mean treatment and potentially compensation, so we encourage every former worker - whether they have symptoms or not - to come forward and get tested."
