Joint agency blitz aims to improve safety on NSW building sites

SafeWork NSW and NSW Fair Trading are undertaking a safety blitz on residential building sites in the State’s Mid-North Coast to ensure workplaces comply with health and safety regulations.

Assistant Building Commissioner Matthew Whitton said these inspection programs aim to ensure buildings in these areas are safe.

“Inspectors will be focusing on looking for non-compliant building work and safety issues in the Port Macquarie and Kempsey areas this week,” Mr Whitton said.

“In addition, we will be checking electrical installations and tradespeople on site have a valid licence and that apprentices are being supervised.
