Injured rider airlifted after fall from horse

A man has been flown to hospital after he fell from a horse in the Western Downs region.

The man, aged in his 50s, was riding the horse on a private property when the incident happened on Monday afternoon. He suffered a dislocated elbow and internal injuries after the animal rolled on top of him.

The LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter crew was tasked about 8pm. He was treated by the aeromedical crew and flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
