Initial report released following serious injury to worker at NSW quarry

OHS Daily News

The NSW Resources Regulator has released a report detailing an investigation following a serious injury sustained by a worker at a sand quarry near Lithgow, on December 2, 2024.

The regulator says the incident occurred while the worker was operating in an unprotected area of a fixed conveyor.

“A worker was adjusting a conveyor belt alignment arm when his right arm became entangled with the belt and rollers. This resulted in a serious injury to his arm, where the worker was transferred to hospital and later underwent surgery,” the regulator states in the report.

The regulator is investigating the incident.
