Heavy vehicle operators encouraged to apply for federal funding as submission deadline looms

The deadline for submitting applications for Round 8 of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s (NHVR) Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative (HVSI) is fast approaching, and heavy vehicle operators are being urged to apply for federal funding and help improve safety in the industry.

The federal government has set aside approximately $4 million to support heavy vehicle safety initiatives through Round 8 of the HVSI.

NHVR Chief Executive Officer Sal Petroccitto said, "I encourage those with a tangible project idea to apply for HVSI funding and help keep heavy vehicles moving safely and efficiently.”

Heavy vehicle operators have until 5 pm AEST Monday, 20 February 2023, to submit their applications.
