Heavy Metal Education Campaign launched to promote mobile plant safety

The Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) has partnered with an Australian infrastructure company to launch a mobile plant safety campaign as part of National Safe Work Month.

The aim of the campaign is to create awareness about the risks of working with heavy machinery or mobile plant.

Many construction workers are injured while working with mobile plant. Statistics show mobile plant account for a significant number of work-related injuries reported to the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner.

Federal Safety Commissioner David Denney said, “The Heavy Metal initiative we’re launching today features educational resources, freely available on the OFSC’s website, which aim to help accredited companies raise awareness of safe working methods around mobile plant. Through raising awareness, we can help to ensure everyone goes home safely every day.”
