Hand and finger injuries on the rise at NSW mine sites
The Resources Regulator in New South Wales has been notified of 50 incidents involving injuries to hands and fingers at mine sites within the last 2 years.
Out of these incidents, 12 have led to severe injuries.
The regulator states that these injuries could lead to surgical procedures, extended periods of rehabilitation, and even permanent disabilities for the workers.
The Regulator has provided several suggestions to prevent hand and finger injuries.
