Forestry employee seriously injured in workplace incident at North Canterbury

An investigation has commenced following an incident that left a forestry worker injured in North Canterbury on Monday afternoon.

According to police, emergency services were alerted to the incident on Chapmans Boundary Road, West Eyreton, just after midday.

Hato Hone St John said they dispatched a helicopter, two vehicles, and an ambulance.

St John confirmed that a patient was flown to Christchurch Hospital and is currently in critical condition.

WorkSafe stated it was conducting preliminary investigations into an incident that occurred in West Eyreton, North Canterbury.
