Firies sustain injuries in burnover fighting bushfire in WA

Three firefighters were hospitalised on Friday afternoon after experiencing smoke inhalation and sustaining minor injuries when their truck ignited in a fire incident north-west of Esperance.

According to the Esperance Shire, the fire broke out in Dalyup, about 32 kilometers west of Esperance, around 2:30pm on Friday.

A shire official reported that a volunteer firefighting vehicle was involved in a burnover incident at approximately 3:30pm.

Following the incident, the three firefighters were conveyed to Esperance Hospital, suffering from minor injuries and smoke inhalation.

The WA Country Health Service said the three individuals have now been released.
